The final budget of Modi government’s second term was declared on 1 February. Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the sixth consecutive time.
No changes were made to the tax slab. People with income up to Rs 7 lakh are not subjected to any tax.
The budget addressed the increased connectivity in both big and small cities. It outlined plans for expanding metros in major urban cities, as well as in smaller cities.
Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned that 3 crore houses have been built under the PM Awas Yojana. In the next 5 years, 2 crore more houses will be constructed.
The budget will promote vaccination for cervical cancer, including free vaccination for girls aged 9-14 years as part of the initiative.
Budget highlighted the promotion of tourism in the Northeast, Lakshadweep, and other islands. The government plans to prioritize infrastructure development in these areas.
Nirmala Sitharaman announced the inclusion of Asha Anganwadi workers under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, benefiting many workers across India.
It was proposed in the budget that 300 units of free electricity generated through solar energy will be provided to one crore households across India.
A committee will be formed to transform hospitals into medical colleges. Improving healthcare facilities was also emphasized in the budget.
