Indian-American scientists Dr Ashok Gadgil and Dr Subra Suresh are recipients of America’s highest scientific award.
Dr Ashok Gadgil was honoured with the National Medal for Science for Technology and Innovation.
US President Joe Biden presented the National Medal of Science to Dr Subra Suresh in recognition for his outstanding contributions in the field.
Dr Ashok Gadgil holds a degree from IIT Kanpur. He did his PhD from UC Berkeley. He works as a professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr Ashok Gadgil is known for developing cost-effective solutions that address global challenges. He is a senior scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Dr Subra Suresh, originally from Mumbai, pursued BTech from IIT Madras. He holds a PhD degree from Cambridge University.
Dr Subra Suresh, a professor at Brown University’s School of Engineering, holds the distinction of being the first Asian-born professor to lead any of MIT’s five schools.
