Garam Masala, a perfect blend of Indian spices, makes every dish flavourful. Here’s a quick and easy recipe to prepare it at home.
2 teaspoons coriander seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp black pepper, 1-2 cardamom pods, 1 tbs cloves, 2 cinnamon sticks, 2 bay leaves, 1 nutmeg, 2 star anise, 2 dried red chillies.
Dry roast all the ingredients in a pan over low heat.
Keep stirring and make sure you don’t over roast them. This will take about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the spices from the heat and let it cool down.
When it cools down, grind the spices in a mixer to form a powder.
Store your garam masala in an air-tight container in a cool and dry place. You can use it for up to one year.
