Kader Khan, a legendary Bollywood star, was born on 22 October 1937, into a Pathan family in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Kader Khan grew up in the slums of Kamathipura. His family relocated from Kabul to Mumbai.
Due to financial constraints, his family could only afford to eat three times in a week. These challenges prompted him to seek employment at a mill.
Kader Khan’s mother encouraged him to pursue his studies to escape the shackles of poverty.
Kader Khan studied diligently. He graduated from Mumbai University and then went on to pursue a master’s degree in civil engineering. He also worked as an engineer at a college.
Kader Khan made his debut in the film industry as a screenwriter with the film ‘Jawani Diwani,’ for which he earned Rs 1500.
Kader Khan’s first film as an actor was ‘Daag’ (1973). Rajesh Khanna was the lead actor in the film.
Kader Khan’s comic timing with Govinda was immensely loved by the audience. They worked together in films like Coolie No 1, Aunty No 1, Raja Babu, and Saajan Chale Sasural.
Kader Khan popular films as a screenwriter are Mr Natwarlal, Khoon Pasina, Do Aur Do Paanch, Satte Pe Satta, Inquilab, Hum, and Agneepath.
Kader Khan spent his final days in Toronto, Canada, where he eventually passed away on 31 December 2018.
