He spent his childhood washing dishes for his father’s hand cart business. Due to financial constraints, he used pillowcases as schoolbags.
As he grew older, Kasim set up his own stall and started selling haleem (a stew-based dish).
Kasim worked at his stall from 6 am to 8 pm.
In 2012, Kasim shut down his cart business and moved to Aligarh for higher education.
Kasim pursued BA LLB and then secured first rank in LLM at University of Delhi.
Kasim received offers for teaching positions at two universities, but he continued preparing for the PCS examinations.
Among his eight siblings, Kasim is the only one who has recieved higher education.
