Early life

Smita hails from Darjeeling, West Bengal, and was born on June 19, 1977. Her father, Pranab Das retired as a colonel in Hyderabad.

Early education

She did her schooling at St. Ann's in Marredpally, Hyderabad, with the top rank in ICSE Board exam in 12th. She got her degree in B.Com from St. Francis Degree College for Women.
