Preeti Chandra was born in Kundan village, Sikar district, Rajasthan.
Preeti completed her class 10th from a government school. She did her class 12th from Maru School, Sikar.
Preeti Chandra aspired to become successful journalist before deciding to prepare for UPSC.
She pursued an MA degree from Maharani College, Jaipur, and embarked on her professional journey as a journalist. Preeti also holds a BEd degree.
Preeti Chandra achieved 255th rank in her first attempt at UPSC and accomplished her dream without attending any coaching classes.
Her husband, Vikas Pathak is also an IPS officer. The two met during their training at LBSNAA.
Preeti Chandra’s reputation is such that even dacoits surrender upon hearing her name.
