India's 14-year-old swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu will debut at the Paris Olympics, competing in the 200m freestyle despite early struggles with swimming.
Dhinidhi's parents helped her overcome her fear of water by enrolling her in swimming and even learning to swim themselves to make her feel comfortable.
At Dolphin Aquatics, Dhinidhi struggled initially, knowing only basic strokes. As a nine-year-old among older kids, she was scared and unsure how to ask for help.
At age eight, Dhinidhi faced her fears after a challenging bus trip to a competition. Despite initial reluctance, she won gold and overcame pre-event sickness.
Dhinidhi currently holds the national record in the 200m freestyle. Her dedication and hard work have set a high standard for young swimmers in India.
After competing in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, Dhinidhi is now preparing for the Paris Olympics. Her journey highlights her perseverance, inspiring young athletes in India.
