On June 3, Election Commission of India provided details about the voting phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Numerous records were set during this election. Let’s read about them.
In the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, a record was made as 64.2 crore voters, including 31.2 crore women participated in the elections.
CEC Rajiv Kumar stated that over 68,000 surveillance teams and 1.5 crore polling and security guards were engaged.
During the elections, nearly 4 lakh vehicles, 135 special trains, and 1692 air flights were used to facilitate the voting process.
This year, re-polling took place at only 39 places. In 2019, 540 re-polling were conducted.
Jammu and Kashmir witnessed the highest voter turnout in 4 decades. 58.58 percent voting was recorded in Jammu while 51.05 percent in Kashmir valley.
During the elections, assets worth Rs 10,000 crore, including cash, free gifts, drugs and liquor, were seized.
During the elections, over 90 percent of the 495 complaints regarding violations of the Model Code of Conduct were addressed.
