On July 23, FM Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 for fiscal year 2024-25. As per the budget, there will be a focus on boosting tourism in Bihar and Odisha.

As per the new budget presented by Sitharaman, plans are to revamp Mahabodhi Temple and its corridor to drive more tourists to the pilgrimage site.
The Central Government has plans to renovate the Munisuvrata Temple and its infrastructure to enhance the tourism of the temple.
The Union Budget also plans to renovate Saptharishi Brahmakund in Rajgir to ensure proper infrastructure. It is aimed to make it a global tourist attraction.
Government plans to revive Nalanda University and develop the infrastructure to attract tourists and scholars from across the world.
As per the Union Budget 2024, Odisha's temples, wildlife sanctuary, monuments, and other tourist attractions will be revamped to make it a premier tourist destination.
The budget plans to enhance tourism in these areas to create more jobs, opportunities, investors, and overall economic development of these regions.
