Meet Bollywood actor who fought in the real Kargil War in Indian army

Every year, we observe Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26. This is the day, the nation celebrates India's triumph over Pakistan and honors the sacrifices made by the Indian soldiers. 

Bollywood has made several films over the years on Kargil and its heroes. However, there is one actor who has fought in the real Kargil war and brought pride to the nation. 

Nana Patekar once revealed in an interview that he was part of an elite force, the Quick Reaction Time. He spent over 2 weeks with the soldiers in the Kargil War. 

Nana Patekar played the role of Major Pratap Chauhan in the 1991 film Prahaar. He later was a part of the Kargil War in 1991 and was an “unofficial cheerleader of sorts."

Nana Patekar has been open about his views about the Army. He claims that there are no other heroes than the Indian soldiers and the Jawans of our country.
