Bengaluru: BJP legislator Madhu Swamy on Tuesday (August 20) was inducted into the Karnataka Cabinet. However, in an embarrassing slip of the tongue, the leader took the oath of office as the ‘mukhya mantri’ (chief minister), instead of ‘mantri’ (minister).
This gaffe by the BJP leader made Karnataka's actual chief minister BS Yediyurappa to pass a smile on the stage and hugged the minister later. Here is a video on how the newly elected Cabinet minister made fun of himself.
