Padma Bhushan Kamal Ranadive: India's Forgotten Cancer Crusader

The battle against cancer is perhaps one of humanity’s longest. The need to find its cause and put an end to great misery has fuelled research in oncology for decades. Dr. Kamal Ranadive was an Indian biomedical researcher who is known for her research in cancer about the links between cancers and viruses. She was a founder member of the Indian Women Scientists' Association (IWSA). In the 1960s, she established India's first tissue culture research laboratory at the Indian Cancer Research Centre in Mumbai.
