2 killed in Andhra Pradesh poll violence as TDP, YSRCP workers clash

Anantapur: Tension prevailed in Andhra Pradesh's Tadipatri Assembly constituency in Anantapur as a clash broke out between the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) workers during the ongoing polling on Thursday. Two people who were injured in the clash died. Both parties’ workers pelted stones at each other outside the booth No 197.
The victims were identified as Sidda Bhaskara Reddy of the TDP and Pulla Reddy of the YSRCP.
Several others from the two parties have also been severely injured. The police officials took the party workers into custody to let the public have a peaceful voting process. The reason behind the attack is still unclear.
