Cases of common cancer increased by 324%; matter of concern

Cases of common cancer, including oral, cervical and breast cancer, have increased by 324% within 2017 and 2018, according to the National health data of 2019. In 2018, 1.6 lakh people were diagnosed with cancer while in 2017, 39,635 cases were detected. The total number of people visiting the NCD clinics has increased rapidly and experts attribute the increasing incidence of the disease to rapidly changing lifestyles, including stress, food habits and consumption of tobacco products and alcohol.
