Uttar Pradesh: Villagers shoot video of beating up two men charged with theft; face police action

Raebareli: Two youths were tied to a tree and beaten up by a dozen people from Jamalpur in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. The residents accused the youths of stealing a bike from their region. The youths were forcefully brought to Jamalpur and were assaulted. Others recorded the video on their phones and made it viral. Noticing the video, the Naseerabad Station police rushed to the spot, detained the youths and also filed cases against the mob that assaulted the youths. Police is currently questioning youths on the allegations of stealing. All the other accused will also be questioned and the SP Sunil Singh has directed his subordinates to file FIRs against them. A case of theft has been filed against the two youths and an illegally possessed bike was seized from one of the accused Arjun.
