Bengaluru: With Union Budget 2019 to be presented on July 5, members of the public shared their ‘budget expectations’ with MyNation.
While the expectation for a change in tax slabs is commonly seen, people also want the goods and service tax (GST) to be removed. They feel that they are already paying too much to the government. As for the autorickshaw drivers, their concern is over the rate of LPG.
“The ask is going to be to reduce corporate tax to 25% levels because Indian companies are among the highest corporate tax rate payers globally. This is making it uncompetitive in terms of both investments and business,” chairperson and MD, BIOCON, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw said.
MyNation also received very different public opinions about Nirmala Sitharaman, the first full time woman finance minister, presenting the Union Budget.
