New Delhi: After a video, showing a woman and her friend misbehaving with a traffic cop, went viral, the Delhi Police arrested the culprits from Southwest Delhi’s Kishangarh area on Saturday.
According to the local police, the duo was stopped by the traffic police, but they started misbehaving with him. Soon other cops gathered at the location. The incident, which was recorded on a phone by a passer-by showed that they were screaming and misbehaving with the cops and even manhandled one of them.
The woman had been identified as Richa Sharma, while the man was identified as Vinay Khanna.
According to reports, Richa tried to thrash the cop, which triggered a verbal altercation and he called a PCR for help.
When three cops reached the spot, they found that the duo was abusing and aggressively stopping the traffic police from issuing a challan.
"Both the woman and her friend were taken to the police station and a case has been registered under two to three sections of the IPC," a police official said.
This is not the first time that the traffic rule breakers showed their anger on the cops when they try to issue challans. Recently, a woman threw a brick at a traffic police after he issued a challan for not wearing a helmet.
