Sunstroke claims three lives in Kerala; 118 people suffer in state

Thiruvananthapuram: As temperature increases, two more suspected cases of death due to sunstroke were reported from Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur districts on Sunday. Over the weekend, the total number of deaths in the state due to suspected sunstroke has now risen to three.
According to the Kerala health department, since the beginning of March, around 118 people have suffered due to sunstroke in the state. The department has also issued an advisory to people on how to tackle the heat.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast for the coming four days states that the mercury in 11 out of the 14 districts of the state is expected to rise by two to three degree Celsius above the normal temperature at this time of the season.
