Kolar: Three days after the repair and development of a road in Karnataka, the tar crumbled like a freshly baked cookie. It was no treat to the eye, but it didn’t take many men of Gollahalli in Bangarpet Taluk in Bengaluru outskirts or any muscle to peel the tar with their bare hands. The villagers blamed the government, officials and contractors for poor execution of roadwork. The villagers gathered around the road and recorded them peeling the tar using their bare hands to serve as proof of the work that was carried out. The villagers accused SR Projects, a private company owned by Channareddy, an Andhra Pradesh-based contractor for the shoddy work and demanded that proper roadwork be taken up.
