Ayodhya: Suchi Pandey, principal of a primary school in Sohawal Block has been accused of giving Rs 5 to each student and forcing them to clean toilets. She has also been accused of beating up students if toilets are not cleaned.
When guardians of the students took objection to this, the principal supposedly said that this was a direction from the ministry of health. Suchi had told one of the guardians, Ram Kumar Vishwakarma, that even the Prime Minister sweeps.
Furthermore, the principal is accused of dismissing three students from the class and deleting their names from the attendance register. Sohawal Block education officer Amitha Singh has called both parties for talks.
“Action will be taken against any party that is found guilty”, said assistant education officer Udaybhan Yadav. Meanwhile, he also clarified that there is no rule or direction from the department to make students clean toilets. “If this is being practiced, it is against the law”, he added.
