Karwar: Acute water crisis in the INS Kadamba naval base in Karnataka’s Karwar has forced the officials to contemplate on shifting some of the warships and submarines to Mumbai. The base requires six million litres of water per day, but due to water shortage the base is getting only one million litre. Last week, INS Deepak, a fleet tanker had brought water from Mumbai to Karwar base. The water will be sufficient for four days, but if there is no rain in the next few days, the ships will have to be shifted to Mumbai. The water is provided to the base from River Gangavalli in Ankola. However, it has gone dry.
