Bagalkot: Former chief minister of Karnataka and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah stopped a Congress leader who tried to help him wear his shoes while he was heading out of the residence of a deceased Indian soldier’s family, whom he visited to hand over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh as financial assistance.
As the CLP leader was heading out of the residence, a Congress leader was seen helping Siddaramaiah wear his shoes. Siddaramaiah was heard on camera instructing the party leader not to pick up his shoes saying media persons would “misuse the footage”.
This fear in the CLP leader's mind was brought about after reporters of various news channels flashed the news in September 2018, of Karnataka deputy chief minister G Parameshwara allowing his gunman to clean his dirty kurta and shoes.
