Bengaluru: JD(S)’s newly appointed president and six-time MLA HK Kumaraswamy who spoke exclusively to Asianet Newsable says he did not expect to be promoted to party president and thanked HD Deve Gowda and HD Kumaraswamy for showing faith in him.
He agreed that there were differences between former president H Vishwanath and coordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah but remarked that this difference will not impact the coalition.
Despite widespread information of Congress MLAs posing a threat to the CM's throne, Kumaraswamy said that there was no threat, and that HD Kumaraswamy will complete five years as chief minister.
In reference to the dominance of dynasty politics with respect to elevation of posts awarded to Nikhil Kumaraswamy and Madhu Bangarappa, the newly appointed president said, it is 'inevitable'. However, he says these leaders have huge potential and hence deserve their respective responsibilities bestowed upon them.
