Dubai tourist bus accident: 10 Indians among 17 killed; 5 injured

Dubai: Seventeen people were killed in Dubai after a tourist bus met with an accident on Thursday evening (June 6). Among the 17 dead, 10 are from India. Among the 10, six were identified as Keralites. The identities of the other four Indians are yet to be ascertained. There were 31 persons travelling in the bus which was returning from Oman after Eid holidays. Five were critically injured.
The bus which met with accident was coming to Dubai from Muscat. The deceased from Kerala were identified as Deepak Kumar, Jamaludheen, Vasudevan and Thilakan. At the same time, police are yet to identify the other two Keralites killed in the accident. The bus with Oman number plate crashed into a signboard at Al Rashidiya exit near Rashidiya exit on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road at 5.40 pm, the Dubai Police said.
The police and civil defence personnel were involved in rescue operations. The injured were rushed to the Rashid Hospital.
