7 men attack Chennai petrol bunk staff with machetes

Chennai: A video of a gang of seven brandishing machetes and threatening a fuel station’s staff in Alappakkam near Perungalathur, Chennai, is going viral. Accused Mani and his friends were travelling from Nerkundram and stopped at the fuel station at 10 pm on Sunday (July 14). Attendant Ilavarasan did not show any interest in filling the fuel and was looking at his phone. This enraged Mani and his six friends who picked up a fight with the staff and this led to a heated argument. When the other staff joined Ilavarasan, they left the spot but came back later on bikes, covering their faces. They brandished machetes and attacked them, injuring the owner of the fuel station, Rajiv and fled the place. All seven accused have now surrendered at the George Town court, Chennai.
