A recent viral video from Assam highlights a heartwarming rescue of an elephant calf caught in a flooded river.

Shared by Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the video shows the young elephant struggling against the strong river current. The calf keeps its trunk above the water while trying to reach the bank. Forest officials quickly noticed the situation and jumped into action. One official tied a rope around the calf, and together, they pulled it safely to shore.

Once on land, the calf was wrapped in a cloth for protection and examined by the team. The Chief Minister mentioned in his post that the calf had lost its way along the Aie River in Chirang. It is now receiving care at Manas National Park while efforts are made to locate its mother.
