Women Officers  

Two women officers are set to create history as they embark on a challenging journey to circumnavigate the globe under the Indian Navy's 'Navika Sagar Parikrama II' expedition. The journey will commence from Goa on October 2, 2024.

23-year-old Parul Dhayal has been selected as a Sub Lieutenant in the Indian Navy. She completed her training on May 25, 2024.

IPS officer Sanjukta Parashar cleared the UPSC exams in 2006. She was appointed as the Assistance Commandant of Makum in 2008. Her first task was to manage the conflict between Bodo militants and illegal Bangladeshi terrorists.

A sailing expedition of 12 women officers from Mumbai to Lakshadweep and back was done in preparation for an upcoming 'Around the World Sailing Competition' expected in September. 

Recently, Megha Goyal, an RPS officer from 2021 batch, was promoted to the position of the Chief Officer (CO) in Mandal, Bhilwara. Her social media fans are extending their congratulations to her.

Commander Prerna Devasthali made history by becoming the first female officer in the Indian Nacy to lead a battleship in the Western Fleet. Squadron Leader Avni Chaturvedi achieved the milestone of becoming the first female fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force to engage in aerial combat exercises abroad.

Savita Pradhan was born in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. She was the first girl from her village to complete class 10 studies. Savita was married off at the young age of 16. At 21, she moved out of her husband’s house with her sons and started a new life. She cleared the MPPSC exams in her first attempt and became a PCS officer.

Oshin Sharma hails from Kangra district and was raised in Shimla. She received acting offers in films, but she declined them due to her family’s disapproval. Oshin Sharma is the brand ambassador of Ladli Foundation. Since 2019, she has been serving as a Himachal Administrative Service officer.

BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi has hit back at Rahul Gandhi on the issue of women officers becoming eligible for command posting, saying it was Congress which argued against women. 

The Supreme Court today directed the Centre to grant permanent commission to all women officers in the Army within three months, terming the Centre's argument of physiological limitations and social norms for denying them command posts "disturbing".
