Women Farmers  

Santosh Devi, a farmer from Sikar district in Rajasthan, has earned President’s Award for successfully developing a new variety of carrot through careful and dedicated efforts. She earns a significant income from her pomegranate and carrot farms.

Under NAMO Drone Didi Scheme, women will receive training in various aspects of drone operation, including flying drones, data analysis, and drone maintenance over the course of 15 days.

Shraddha established a biogas plant on her farm, implemented a zero-waste management approach, and effectively managed the expenses by buying fodder at lower prices. Her farm also received recognition from Maharashtra government for its organic fertilizer production.

NAMO Drone Didi scheme was introduced on 30 November 2023. This government scheme aims to empower rural women in India and transform agricultural practices using technology.

Bihar’s Sunita Devi experimented with vertical farming at her home, now she grows all kinds of vegetables in her vertical farms. She has been honoured with Krishi Abhinav Samman and receives offers to provide training to other farmers from outside Bihar.
