For the third phase of polling, the Election Commission has set up 147 all-women polling stations in the four constituencies of Assam — 29 in Dhubri, 11 in Kokrajhar, 28 in Barpeta and 79 in Gauhati.

BJP candidate Umesh Jadhav contesting from Kalaburagi constituency, cast his vote in Chincholi which falls under the Bidar Lok Sabha constituency.

In Kerala, over 2.61 crore people are eligible to cast their votes, with a total of 227 candidates in the fray. Meanwhile, for Karnataka’s 14 seats, 237 candidates will seek a mandate from 2.43 crore eligible voters.

Polling officers did not have a good start to the day when they were faced with a power cut at a polling booth in Honnali. Voting began late as staff on election duty decided to use candles when there was no sign of power supply being restored.
