Verdict  

The Travancore Devaswom Board changed stance on the Supreme Court verdict allowing the entry of women into the temple has met the ire of the Pandalam royal family. Earlier, the Board had taken a stand against the SC verdict and sought more time to implement the verdict.

The 65 petitions regarding the Sabarimala issue were heard by a five-judge constitution bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi
 

When Kanakadurga after the verdict by a village court entered her husband's house, she found that her husband and her mother-in-law had already moved to another house. The court had granted the Sabarimala visitor permission to live in her husband’s house.
 

A total of 49 review petitions have been brought before the Supreme Court. The petitioners have also said that the Sabarimala verdict has "legal errors" and the assumption of the temple practice being based on notions of menstrual impurity is 'factually erroneous'.

The committee said the police security should also be arranged on the forest pathway because Pamba was completely destroyed in the floods. Earlier, an Ayyappa devotee was killed in a wild elephant attack on the forest pathway to the Sabarimala shrine.

The Supreme Court had banned Jallikattu in 2014. But after week-long protests in 2017, the Tamil Nadu government passed an amendment to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 allowing organising of Jallikattu with restrictions.
