 Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for creating a “new paradise” in the Kashmir valley. The decision to revoke provisions under Article 370 was a decision for the unity of India, PM Modi said, in his speech while addressing a gathering in Nashik. 

Weeks after the abrogation of Article 370, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked his Cabinet to work on schemes for the Jammu Kashmir region. Home Minister Amit Shah was also present in the meeting chaired by the PM and said that the valley was gradually improving.

The Indian government imposed restrictions in the Valley before scrapping Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two union territories-- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

Section 144 has been imposed on Jammu and Kashmir and as a result no trucks are allowed to and from the Union territory. Good trains, even those that carry perishable goods have been stalled at Jammu border for the last two days.
