Railway minister Piyush Goyal has lamented the uncooperative attitude exhibited by several states like West Bengal in not asking for more trains to get back their migrant labourers. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday allowed the use of special trains for movement of migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other people stranded at different places across the country amid lockdown due to COVID-19.

1718 new cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 33050. The recovery rate is now 25.19%.
The Union home ministry has made it clear that as of now, only buses will be allowed to bring back students and migrants. It added it is not considering trains presently.
