Pakistan fully closed its airspace on February 26 after the Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets struck a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist training camp in Balakot following the Pulwama terror attack

The video was posted on As-Sahab channel, an in-house production of al Qaeda, where the leader is seen asking the terrorists "make India suffer sustained losses in manpower and equipment”.

Although Major Ketan Sharma's first posting was in Pune, two years ago he was transferred to Kashmir’s Anantnag as a part of the counter-insurgency operations group of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles.

In the latest attack on Tuesday morning, a soldier was martyred and another injured in an encounter in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Anantnag has witnessed several such incidents in the recent past.

The gunfight started after a joint team of Army’s 55RR, SOG Pulwama and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area

According to officials, an Al-Umar Mujahideen spokesperson has confirmed that its terrorists were behind the attack on armed forces in Anantnag. The spokesperson also threatened that there will be more attacks in the near future

The incident took place near KP Chowk when few vehicle-borne terrorists opened fire at the security forces. The gunfire is still underway. 

According to officials, a cordon and search operation was launched jointly by police and security forces after they got a specific input about terrorists hiding in the area.

A team of NIA officials arrived in Coimbatore from Kochi and have been conducting searches in residences of those suspected to have links with the terror group ISIS.

An Intelligence Bureau official claimed that the agency didn't issue the alert as there was no confirmation but only news reports based on a text message

Intelligence agencies are trying to ascertain if they have actually been shut down or have shifted their base to an alternate place. As per sources, there has been a significant dip in the cases of infiltration of terrorists into India. 

 

The clash erupted after a group of Taliban terrorists attacked some security outposts in Poshta Noor village in Dawlatyar district of Ghor, said Hamidullah Motahid, a member of the Ghor Provincial Council.
