The Constitutional bench headed by then CJI Dipak Misra had in a landmark verdict in September allowed the entry of women of the menstruating age group in the Lord Ayyappa shrine. 

The Supreme Court will on Tuesday hear 49 petitions seeking a review of the earlier verdict that allowed women of all ages to enter the Sabarimala temple

Ammunition was found at the house of Bihar's former social welfare minister Manju Verma, accused in the  Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual assault case. The police are saying she is missing since one month and Supreme Court has expressed shock over the same.

 

The hearing assumes significance as CBi chief Alok Verma has reportedly   given a point-wise refusal to all the allegation levelled against him by his deputy Rakesh Asthana before the three-member CVC headed by K V Chowdary

Diwali special: Tamil Nadu government, following a direction by the Supreme Court on fixing two hours per day to burst crackers, had announced that people can burst firecrackers only between 6 AM to 7 AM and 7 PM to 8 PM.

A protest also was staged by Ayyappa devotees on Tuesday morning at Sannidhanam against several women due to doubts over their age. Then, when they came to know the truth, the protesters themselves provided security to the woman to visit the shrine.
 

Circulars have been issued to various police stations in the city to ensure people stick to the time limit fixed by the Supreme Court. Each of these police stations has been issued orders to patrol to ensure that there is no violation of the verdict on firecrackers.

Tight security has been posted around the Sabarimala temple in Kerala on Monday as the temple opens for two days.  Extra security has been called in after violent protests last month against women who tried to enter the temple following a Supreme Court order 

Further, the Pollution Control Board will keep a tab on the extent of air pollution for 14 days ― seven days before the festival and seven days thereafter
