Key Karnataka leaders – from both BJP and Congress – CM BS Yediyurappa and former CM Siddaramaiah have welcomed the top court’s verdict on disqualification. 

17 disqualified Karnataka MLAs can contest the upcoming by-polls on December 5, but their disqualification holds good, the Supreme Court observed.

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa spoke to the disqualified seventeen Karnataka MLAs camping in New Delhi ahead of the supreme court verdict. He promised them that he would stand by them, come what may.

The order will be passed by a five-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justices NV Ramana, DY Chandrachud, Deepak Gupta and Sanjiv Khanna. The bench had reserved the order on April 4.
