Reacting to the Supreme Court’s verdict on rebel MLAs resigning, several leaders cutting across party lines said that they would abide by it and see what can be done in accordance with the law

Supreme Court has asked the 10 rebel MLAs, lodged in Mumbai resort, to meet Karnataka Speaker by 6 pm today. It has also directed Speaker Ramesh Kumar to decide on the resignation letters today itself. 

In what comes as a refreshing news for owners of pubs and restaurants who were forced to relocate to destinations beyond a radius of 500 metres from national highways as per a Supreme Court verdict, the excise department officials have asked them to relocate to their original destinations
 

LDF Kasaragod constituency secretary and MLA TV Rajesh forwarded the complaint to the chief electoral officer Dr Sajith Babu. According to the complaint, UDF candidate Rajmohan Unnithan demeaned the Supreme Court verdict of September 28 on Sabarimala. In a speech Unnithan said that the LDF government is against believers.

 

Surendran had initiated various protests against the September 2018 Supreme Court verdict allowing women of all age groups into Sabarimala. The clashes with the police even led to his arrest.

The Travancore Devaswom Board changed stance on the Supreme Court verdict allowing the entry of women into the temple has met the ire of the Pandalam royal family. Earlier, the Board had taken a stand against the SC verdict and sought more time to implement the verdict.

Malayalam actor Kollam Thulasi had made a controversial statement on October 12, claiming that women who enter Sabarimala temple going by the Supreme Court verdict, should be 'ripped in half'. Thulasi made this statement while speaking during an NDA rally in Kollam, Kerala.
 

SP Manju, the 36-year-old woman, who entered Sabarimala on January 8, is a member of the Congress. The party that opposed the Supreme Court verdict now goes back on its stand, say angry devotees.

On October 23, Verma and his deputy Rakesh Asthana were sent on indefinite leave by the Central Vigilance Commission, following a long-drawn feud over corruption allegations.
