Supreme Court On Unnao  

A month after the Unnao rape survivor met with an accident, the top court has directed authorities to set up a temporary court in order to record the her statement. The survivor had met with an accident in July and her family members had blamed expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. 

The Supreme Court has granted a two-week extension to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the probe into the Unnao rape survivor’s accident. BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who is currently expelled from the party, was accused of plotting the murder.

At a time when both, the Unnao rape survivor and her lawyer were airlifted to New Delhi’s AIIMS, to ensure better treatment for the injuries caused due to an accident on July 29, the Supreme Court has sought a status report from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the steps taken to ensure the teen’s safety.
