Schools in Delhi reopened after an extended Diwali break after the city was covered in a blanket of smog. While the pollution levels have gradually come down since Sunday, the AQI still remains in the 'poor' category.

Delhi is covered under a thick blanket of smog and the air quality index  was measured at 703 in certain parts of the city, while some others stood at 676.  In Gurugram, the AQI had crossed the 800 mark.
