At least three terrorists were killed in an ongoing gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district

Three terrorists were killed by security forces in a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Wednesday morning (June 10)

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in Banday Mohalla in Bonbazar area of Shopian, security forces launched a cordon and search operation. A top Pakistani JeM commander has been killed in the encounter in Kashmir

According to sources, the two slain militants were affiliated with the Ansar Gazwatul Hind (AGH) militant outfit, which is inspired by the ideologies of Islamic State (IS)

The bodies have been taken to district police lines for identification
 

Police sources told MyNation that security forces had received specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area after which they had surrounded an orchard area of Dragad-Sugan village. Encounter is still underway in Shopian between security forces and terrorists

Amid clashes in Shopian, the Army continued its operation till 3 am, but the militants could not be neutralised because of the volatile situation which provided the militants an opportunity to escape before being killed by the security forces

According to reports, the gunfight is going on in the forest area of Yarwan in Shopian. It is believed that two to three militants are trapped there
 

An encounter had broken out between terrorists and troops of 130 Battalion CRPF, 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG) at 2.10 AM.
