During a press meet in Bengaluru, chief minister HD Kumaraswamy said if they had prepared well for the by-elections, JD(S) leader Madhu Bangarappa would have won from Shivamogga constituency in Karnataka.

The results of Karnataka by-elections have been announced. Out of five constituencies, JD(S) and Congress alliance has won two Lok Sabha seats and two Assembly constituencies while BJP has managed to claim one Lok Sabha seat. Here are the complete details. 

By-elections were held for five constituencies in Karnataka - Lok Sabha by-election for Ballari, Shivamogga and Mandya whereas Assembly by-election for Jamakhandi and Ramanagara.

Ramanagara JD(S) candidate, Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy's wife Anitha Kumaswamy paid a visit to Kampanahalli village Koti Anjenayaswamy temple; Yeddyurappa along with son and candidate from Shivamogga visited Hucharaya Swamy temple.

At 11 AM, the Lok Sabha constituencies of Shivamogga recorded 17.37%, Ballari 24.58% and Mandya recorded 13.36%, and assembly constituencies Ramanagara recorded 21.51% and Jamakhandi recorded 22.3% voters turn out.
