While addressing the media in Ballari, along with Congress leader DK Shivakumar, JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda said that he would support Rahul Gandhi for prime minister in the 2019 general elections.

Former Karnataka minister Janardhan Reddy accused DK Shivakumar of distributing money  to voters in Ballari for the upcoming by-election. 'DK Shivakumar is free and I will wait till he comes and I will expose  him,' said Reddy.
