In an editorial, Shiv Sena claimed that Union parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi said that Shiv Sena MPs are being allotted seats on the opposition side in both houses of the Parliament. However, the Union minister denied the claims made by the Sena.

Shiv Sena is adamant on the chief minister's post and equal Cabinet seats in Maharashtra. BJP is maintaining that there was no such agreement with the Sena. If there is no solution by the end of the day, Maharashtra will have no other choice than President's rule.

BJP won 79 seats while it is leading on 24 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra and won 33 seats and is leading in 7 seats in Haryana.

BJP- Shiv Sena continue to lead in Maharashtra with leads on 99 and 60 assembly constituencies respectively. Counting of votes began at 8 am for the 288 seats in Maharashtra. The BJP had contested on 150 seats while Shiv Sena had fielded its candidates in 124 constituencies in the state.

Justin Trudeau of the Liberal Party of Canada retains his post but in a minority government. All he needs is support from the New Democratic Party (NDP) led by Jagmeet Singh to defeat the Conservatives. 
 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought the participation of as many Indians to vote in Maharashtra and Haryana. Polling for 90 seats of Haryana and 288 constituencies of Maharashtra began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm in the evening. PM Modi took to Twitter to urge voters to cast their votes. 

Home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday (October 8) asked his party leaders to reach out to people and asked them to give power and space to panchs and sarpanches to perform in the polls as the party is eyeing to win 90% BDC seats
