Sea Bridge  

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has unveiled plans for a new 14-lane highway connecting Mumbai and Bengaluru. The highway will start near Mumbai's Atal Setu, traverse Pune, and ultimately extend to Bengaluru.

Sea bridges are essential transportation infrastructure constructed across seas for ease of navigation. These are seven stunning sea bridges, each with a unique significance.

India’s longest sea bridge was inaugurated on 12 January 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is also known as the ‘Mumbai Trans Harbour Link.’ This six-lane bridge is 21.8 km long and it includes an impressive 16.5 km sea link. It connects Suri in Mumbai to Chirle in Raigad district.

The ‘Atal Setu,’ the country’s longest bridge, known as the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, has been completed. It spans over 22 kilometres.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s longest sea bridge, the Atal Setu Bridge. The bridge reduces the travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai by 20 minutes.

The 55-km-long aqueduct constitutes a snaking road bridge and underwater tunnel, which links Asia’s financial hub, Hong Kong and the gambling archipelago of Macau.
