Just days after being sentenced to life imprisonment in an abduction and murder case, owner of the popular Saravana Bhavan hotel, Rajagopal passed away in hospital

Owner of Saravana Bhavan P Rajagopal has been rightfully sentenced for his role in a murder, but it was due to the efforts of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa that the case met its logical end.

Soon after he surrendered, 'Saravana Bhavan' founder Rajagopal was taken to a government medical college hospital and was admitted to the "convict ward" as per the doctors' advice. He is serving life sentence in a murder case

Rajagopal was awarded life sentence for killing his employee Sanahkumar, who had apparently married a girl whom Rajagopal wanted to take as his third wife in 2001

After Saravana Bhavan owner P Rajagopal was granted bail for a murder he had committed in 2001, the Supreme Court has now upheld his lifetime imprisonment. Rajagopal has time till July 7 to surrender.

A team over 100 I-T officers raided the residences and offices of the directors of Saravana Bhavan and other restaurant chains.
