The incident happened at the route usually taken by Ayyappa devotees who perform petta thullal (historic ritualistic dance) at Erumeli and reach Sannidhanam via Karimala. Nineteen more pilgrims were travelling to the shrine with Paramasivam
 

Sasikala, a woman from Sri Lanka, came with ‘Guruswami’ to Sabarimala and had the darshan of Lord Ayyappa at 10.46 PM on Thursday.  The Kerala Police revealed this and they released the CCTV footage of the Sannidhanam. It is alleged that this was a police trap to send Sasikala back safely.
 

The Kerala Police said that Sasikala had entered the shrine on Thursday evening. Police released CCTV footage, which portrays where Sasikala can be seen walking in the Sannidhanam at Sabarimala.

The Manithi group from Tamil Nadu had to withdraw their decision to enter the famous shrine after protesters chanting Ayyappa mantra surrounded them
 

Earlier, around 15 women tried to enter the Sabarimala temple, but none of them could reach the Sannidhanam. Most of them returned after protests from devotees

A protest also was staged by Ayyappa devotees on Tuesday morning at Sannidhanam against several women due to doubts over their age. Then, when they came to know the truth, the protesters themselves provided security to the woman to visit the shrine.

Protesters attacked media in Sabarimala on Tuesday morning over reports of a woman of menstruating age suspected to be entering the temple.
 

Hindu organisations are bringing 1,500 women to protest in Sabarimala with Irumudikkettu if women below 50 attempt to enter Sabarimala. The police will, however, not allow the devotees to camp at Sannidhanam for more than 24 hours.
