The BJP is planning to ring in a surprise by swapping the constituencies of two of its prominent leaders Shobha Karandlaje and Sadananda Gowda. The plan is seen as a move to ensure the winnability prospects of the saffron party as also keeping the spirits of the party cadres high

The BJP will separately field its candidate for Tura and Shillong seats in Meghalaya. A top leader of the saffron party in Meghalaya said that the party has prepared a list of four probable candidates for both Tura and Shillong constituencies

On the brink of the general elections 2019, BJP has successfully managed to impress several members from other parties to shift loyalties and join the saffron party.
