The Rs 40,000 crore deal signed by India and Russia will be executed in 2020 with the first delivery of the agreed five S-400 missile regiments and is expected to be completed by April 2023

The negotiations team used the threat of sanctions to the advantage of the country as they managed to get a huge concession of $900 million (approximately Rs 7,000 crore) from the Russians with the amount approved by the defence acquisition council being $6.3 billion

The S-400 air defence missile system is likely to give India an edge over China and Pakistan as it will virtually seal the airspace around India for any enemy to carry out an attack 

Following an exchange of agreements and press statements, Putin will arrive at the ITC Maurya Hotel, where the India-Russia Business Summit is scheduled to take place at around 3:30 PM.
