The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its approval for the introduction of the Industrial Relations Code, 2019 in Parliament. allowing companies to hire workers on a fixed-term contracts of any duration. Two-member tribunal (in place of one member) has been set up for dispute, introducing a concept that some of the important cases will be resolved jointly and the rest by a single member resulting in faster disposal of cases.
