Speaking to reporters, the advocate of the four accused in the Nirbhaya rape case, AP Singh, said that the convicts still have 'legal remedies' to perform

In all likelihood, the four convicts in the Nirbhaya rape case will be hanged in the next few days

Akshay Kumar Singh, one of the convicts in Nirbhaya case has filed a review petition against the death sentence in the Supreme Court. If the court rejects the plea, he will be left with the only option to plead for mercy with the President. This comes a few days after the home ministry recommended President Ram Nath Kovind to reject the mercy plea filed by another accused Vinay Kumar.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that all the accused in the Unnao rape case and those who burnt her alive have been arrested and the case will be taken to a fast-track court. 

While reactions have poured in after the encounter that saw the deaths of the four accused in the Hyderabad veterinarian rape-murder case, the elephant in the room just seems to be getting bigger, and one cannot help talk about the number of rape cases that are still pending

Franco Mulakkal was arrested last year after a nun levelled allegations that he repeatedly raped her at the Kottayam's Kuravilangad convent between 2014 and 2016. He was earlier granted bail by the court.

The Supreme Court granted an interim stay on Allahabad high court order on former BJP member Chinmayanand, allowing him to access certified copy of the rape accuser’s statements.  On September 21, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) had arrested Chinmayanand and sent him to jail. The law student was also booked on alleged charges of extortion against Chinmayanand.

The accused in the Shahjahanpur rape case, Chinmayanand will be in judicial custody till October 30. The court had earlier sent the former Union minister to judicial custody till October 16. Chinmayanand was arrested on September 20 following which he was sent to judicial custody.

Former Uttar Pradesh minister from the BJP, Chinmayanand, who is accused of raping a law student will be produced before a court in the state via video conferencing. He had earlier been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences.
